With the developments of Hurricane Laura and its “too close for comfort” location to Houston, we are being told that all landfills in Houston will be closing at 4PM today, and will remain closed all of tomorrow, Thursday.
If this should be the case, with no landfills to empty the trucks at, we can not proceed with any collections on Thursday, 8/27. Therefore, we will delay services by one day and we will:
- Collect Thursday routes on Friday, 8/28.
- Collect Friday routes on Saturday, 8/29.
Back to normal collections on Monday, 8/31.
Let’s hope that the Hurricane continues to track on its current predicted path along the Sabine Pass, and spares us and the entire Houston market.
At the same time, let’s keep all our fellow Texans in Port Arthur and Beaumont in our prayers as it appears they will really feel the brunt of this storm.
