H.B. 872 has recently been enacted by the State of Texas. This new law keeps your water bill information, including shut off information completely confidential from public disclosure.

If you want your information to remain confidential, do nothing.

IF YOU WANT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC, FILL OUT THE FORM below and return to the water district operator.

You may have noticed that you have a new water meter in your front yard.  These meters will allow Newport MUD to have more accurate “real-time” information about water consumption and leak detection.  When implementation is complete, customers will also be able to track water usage in real time.  Please take care not to damage the meter or related antenna equipment, and if you use a lawn contractor, advise them to do the same.  Newport MUD will require homeowners who damage the meters to replace them at homeowner’s cost.
